Bon Voyage, Beach Fossils

no more d-d-d-drama

Last night I went to see Beach Fossils at Mercury Lounge in Manhattan. It was definitely a show to see, especially if you missed last week’s fiasco when the bassist threw his instrument into the East River at the South Street Seaport Show. Read about it here on Brooklyn Vegan. This was the guitarist’s very last show with the band, and no one was keeping quiet about it. As a result there were several awkward moments, including the painful 4 minutes of waiting for said guitarist to re-string his guitar…

The music was smooth as expected, vocals drenched in reverb, plenty of dancing barefoot and the lights turned way down low for a really intimate feel. Beach Fossils are on tour now and if you get a chance to see them, pick up the limited edition clear vinyl.
